With her big-picture thinking, incredible design & alluring copywriting ninja skills – Andrea brings an incredible amount of talent, and personality to Powerhouse.

Here’s 11 things you may, or may not have known about Andrea Manahan – our Creative & Brand Specialist.

What made you want to work with us?

I wanted to work with a team that’s at the forefront of digital marketing, an industry that didn’t exist a few years ago. It’s evolving every minute, and to be part of this constantly changing field is exciting and it forces you to keep learning.

The cafe around the corner was a real sweetener as well – great coffee, and they give you 50 cents off your coffee when you bring your own Keep Cup.

Describe your career journey, and how it got you here.

My experience has been quite varied! From a snowboard instructor to flight attendant, to ecommerce and brand manager, it was me being nosy that got me to Powerhouse. I had a meeting next door, noticed the cool branding at Powerhouse and I stuck my head through their door.

They haven’t been able to get rid of me since.

Who’s your biggest inspiration in life currently?

Business owners with children – I’m not sure how they manage to juggle it all, as well as raise tiny humans.

Would you class yourself as a thinker, or doer? Why?

55% thinker, 45% doer.

Storytelling is my jam, whether it’s in the form images, text, garments, branding etc. A lot of that happens in my head first, and then I do. Sometimes I get stuck in the thinking stage, but there’s nothing like a deadline to shift the gear into Doing.

What do you consider your greatest achievement to date and why?

Launching my own Menswear label because I had to give up a lot of cool stuff in order to pursue this even cooler venture.

What is the single most important achievement on your bucket list? Why?

Spending time with nomads in Mongolia. I wanted to take the road less travelled, so much so that I went to a country where roads were more of an idea than an actual thing. This is the most important achievement because 9.95 times out of 10, I am the only person in the room who’s been to Mongolia #imsounique #livingmybestlife  #blessed

Biggest highlight of your career?

Colin Mathura-Jeffree is a fan of my menswear.

What are you best known for?

My red border collie, Koey (as in Puke-kohe, not Kohi aka Kohimarama – we’re not that fancy).

What do you know is true that no one else agrees on?

That flight attendants think the idea of the mile high club is gross (they know how disgusting aircraft lavatories can get).

Favourite book?

The Picture of Dorian Gray – it keeps our front door open really well.

Favourite song of all time?

Waterfalls, TLC. Mostly because I know the Left Eye’s rap off by heart.

There ya go peeps – if ya don’t know, now you know.
